Bylaws, Rules & Regulations
The following document outlines the bylaws, rules and regulations of Tartan Pines Golf Club (The
Club) and will serve as a Membership Agreement between The Club and Member. This document will
include a description of the facility, detail membership opportunities, and define rules and regulations that
The Club will operate by. The Club will set all rules and regulations and these rules may be changed from
time to time at the absolute and sole discretion of The Club.
Tartan Pines Golf Club is a privately owned 18 hole residential golf community located in
Enterprise, Alabama. The Club will offer non-equity memberships and will allow daily fee public play on the
golf course.
The purpose and mission of Tartan Pines Golf Club is to provide a high level of service to our
members and guests. The Club wants each visit to Tartan Pines to be a memorable experience. To this end,
the golf course, clubhouse and grounds will be well maintained to ensure member and guest satisfaction.
Club Facilities
- 18 Hole Championship Golf Course
- Large golf practice facility that includes a driving range, practice green, practice bunkers, and a
private teaching area.
- Golf Lessons available by PGA Professionals
- Teaching Center with Club Fitting and Custom Clubs
- Year-round junior golf program
- Multiple level clubhouse overlooking water with a golf shop, indoor/outdoor dining and
conference facilities
- Swim facility and cabana
Membership Categories
Golf Membership:
All golf members will be entitled to use all golf facilities under the following categories:
Basic Membership - $115/mo. Plus Tax.
No Greens Fees. Discounted Cart Fees.
Discounted Guest Fees. Preferred pricing on all golf shop merchandise.
Preferred pricing on golf instruction.
Silver Membership - $125/mo. Plus Tax.
No Greens Fees. Discounted Cart Fees. Driving Range Privileges.
Discounted Guest Fees. Preferred pricing on all golf shop merchandise.
Preferred pricing on golf instruction.
Gold Membership - $175/mo. Plus Tax.
No Greens Fees. No Cart Fees. Driving Range Privileges.
Discounted Guest Fees. Preferred pricing on all golf shop merchandise.
Preferred pricing on golf instruction. Pool Privileges
These privileges will be extended to the members “Immediate Family”.
A member’s “Immediate Family” will include the member’s spouse and the unmarried children of
either spouse, under the age of twenty-three (23) and attending school on a full time basis.
Current members may choose to upgrade their membership at any time. Once an upgrade is chosen, the
member must remain in that category for a minimum of one year unless authorized by the Club by written
request.
Other Golf Memberships will be classified as Corporate, Military, Senior, Senior Gold, Non-Resident or
Junior Golf Members. Each membership is described below.
Corporate Golf Memberships
Corporate Golf Memberships will permit the owner to designate up to Five (5) employees (designees) for
Golf Membership privileges. Each designee must be an officer, director, partner or employee of the business
and each must be approved by The Club for membership. The owner of the Corporate Golf Membership may
change each designee once per membership year. Any such change must be submitted in writing to The
Club. There will be a $50 fee each time a designee is changed. The Initiation Fee is listed later in this
document and Membership Dues are listed above and will apply to each designee.
Military Membership- $90/mo. plus tax
Qualifications: Must be active “green card” military. This membership is good for three (3) years. After this
period, if still stationed in the area, the member must pay the difference between the $100 initiation fee and
the posted initiation fee at the end of the three (3) year period.
Senior Weekday Membership - $75/mo. plus tax
Senior is defined as a person 60 years of age or older. There is no initiation fee and the spouse is included in
the membership. Other conditions and explanations include: No greens fee Monday through Friday with a
discounted cart fee on those days only; Play on Saturday, Sunday and all Holidays will be at the memberguest
rate. A one (1) year contract is required.
Senior GOLD Membership - $125/mo. plus tax
Same conditions as the Senior Weekday Membership. There is no green or cart fee charged to members in
this category Monday through Friday. Play on Saturday, Sunday and all Holidays will be at the memberguest
rate. A one (1) year contract is required.
Non-Resident Membership - $90/mo. plus tax
Non-Resident is defined as a person that resides outside of Coffee, Dale and Geneva Counties. There is no
initiation fee and the spouse is included in the membership. Cost for the Non-Resident Membership will be
$90 per month plus tax. Membership amenities for the Non-Resident Member are the same as a Basic
Membership. A one (1) year contract is required.
Junior Membership - $75/mo. plus tax
Junior is defined as a person 7-17 years of age. There is no initiation fee. The junior golfer is the only
person included in this membership. Parents and/or Guardians may play with the junior member at the
posted member-guest rate. Other conditions and explanations include: No greens fee Monday through
Sunday. Juniors may play at anytime, however, play is restricted until after 2:00 PM on Weekends and
Holidays. On Thursdays, junior golf members may play before 11:30 AM and after 1:30 PM. Junior golf
members will be required to walk unless playing with an adult. The posted member cart fee will apply to the
junior member and regular cart fees will apply to all guests. A one (1) year contract is required.
Social Membership
Social membership will permit an individual access to the Club and its amenities during periods when public
activity is restricted. This membership has an annual fee of $1.00 with no initiation fee. Social Members
pay full Green and Cart fees and are not eligible for any discounts extended to golfing members.
Other Membership Information
The Club reserves the right to limit the number of Memberships issued at its absolute and sole discretion.
The Club may also modify membership categories or add additional categories of memberships at its
absolute and sole discretion.
Memberships issued by The Club may not be transferred. Upon the death of a member, the membership will
be transferred to the surviving spouse, if any.

All Initiation Fees are due upon approval of the membership application by The Club and signing of all
membership agreements.
The Club reserves the right to change Initiation Fees from time to time at its absolute and sole discretion and
without prior notice.
Initiation Fees are not refundable.
All membership dues will be billed in advance at the first of every month. For those members joining during the middle of the month, dues will be prorated.
All membership dues are subject to Alabama Sales Tax.
Dues may be paid annually at a discount of five percent (5%). Dues paid annually will be billed at the first of each
year. For those members who take this election and join or resign during the calendar year dues will be prorated.
Membership Dues are subject to change from time to time at the absolute and sole discretion of The Club.
Pool Memberships
Definition of Pool Member:
Golf Member who has elected to have pool privileges and has paid the additional
monthly fee.
The pool facility at Tartan Pines is for Tartan Pines property owners and golf members only. Property owners do
not have to be members of the club to use the pool facility.
Golf members can obtain a pool facility membership for
$10 per month. (Minimum one year membership).
Membership privileges will be extended to the Immediate Family. (See Definition Earlier).
Pool Guest Policy
Pool Members may bring a maximum of two guests at any one time. Members must accompany the guests at all
times.
Pool Rules
- No glass of any type in the pool area
- No diving in the pool
- Children 12 & under must be accompanied by an adult
- No personal coolers or beverages allowed
- Members and Guests are asked to clean up after their time in the pool area
The number of Pool Memberships available may be limited at some point.
The Club reserves the right to modify this and any category of membership at its absolute and sole discretion.
Leave of Absence
Members may take a one time leave of absence from the club for no more than one year in length. During this leave
a member loses all rights and privileges of membership and the membership becomes inactive. Inactive members
will not be charged any dues. At any time during the one year a member may reactivate their membership at which
time billing of Dues will begin again but there is no new Initiation Fee. Any Leave of Absence must be in writing
to The Club and will become effective upon receipt of the letter and approval of The Club. Any reactivation of a
membership must also be in writing to The Club and will become effective upon receipt and approval by The Club.
Applying for Membership
Prospective members must first fill out a membership application that will be reviewed by The Club. The Club will
notify each applicant either verbally or by letter of approval or denial. Once the membership application has been
approved a membership agreement must be signed and attested by a Club official and the Initiation Fee paid. The
Club reserves the right to deny any membership application at its absolute and sole discretion.
Resignation of Membership
All memberships are for a minimum of one (1) year from join date. Resignations must be submitted to the Director
of Golf of The Club in writing and will become effective upon receipt of the letter. Initiation fees are not
refundable.
General Club Policies
Members and Guests will adhere to all club policies while using club facilities. Disorderly conduct of any type will
not be tolerated. If a member or guest has a problem or complaint while at The Club, ask for Management to
resolve the problem.
Members who fail to observe club rules and regulations may be subject to any of the following disciplinary actions:
verbal warning, written warning, suspension, monetary fine, or expulsion. The Club will review each noncompliance
individually and may invoke any one of the actions listed above.
All incidents will be filed in the member’s record. All Club decisions are final. Expelled members will receive no
refund on dues or initiation fees.
Members are expected to pay dues and club bills on time. Repeated failure to do so may result in any of the
disciplinary actions listed above.
A $30 fee will be charged for all returned checks.
Golf Course Rules
- No private carts are allowed on the golf course
- All players must check in at the golf shop before play
- Members may make Tee Times up to fourteen (14) days in advance
- Daily Fee public golf may make Tee Times seven (7) days in advance
- Pace of play is expected to be four (4) hours or less
- Slower groups must allow faster groups to play through
- No more than four (4) players in a group. The Golf Professional must approve all fivesomes
- During peak usage the Golf Staff may combine players into groups not to exceed a foursome to
expedite play
- Must be sixteen (16) years of age to operate or lease (rent) golf carts. The driver and/or lessee of the
golf car will be held liable for any damage to the golf carts while in their possession
- Cart drivers must obey all signs and stay at least thirty (30) yards from all greens and tees
- No more than two (2) persons per golf car
- Children under ten (10) years of age must be accompanied by an adult using the Club facilities
- No Pets allowed on the golf course
- Personal coolers and beverages are not allowed
- Generally golf carts operating on the course must stay on cart paths and observe the 90 degree rule.
However, carts are to stay on cart paths on all par three holes. Carts may be required by the Golf Staff
to stay on paths at all times due to course conditions or due to the results of inclement weather
- No equipment of any type should be placed on the Greens
Clubhouse Rules
- Members and guests must adhere to the club dress code while using the facility
- Tartan Pines Clubhouse is a smoke free facility
- Bicycling, jogging, walking, or other related activities are not allowed on the golf course during golf
hours
- Members must designate on the membership application which family members can sign for charges.
All golf course and clubhouse rules are subject to change at the absolute and sole discretion of The Club without
prior notice
Dress Code
Appropriate golf attire is expected at all times while using the Club facilities. More specifically for men shirts with
collars and sleeves are required and shorts must be hemmed. For boys under the age of thirteen (13) shirts with
collars are preferred but not required. Only shoes with soft spikes or flat soles are allowed on the course.
The Director of Golf and his appointed committee shall have final authority in all decisions made by The Club.
